Lapinskis Out for Season in Switzerland After Elbow Injury
Latvia national team forward Oskars Lapinskis has injured his elbow while playing for Swiss club Langnau and has already had surgery. The club has said he will not play again this season.

Latvian national team forward Oskars Lapinskis will take no further part in the current season of the Swiss top league. His club, Langnau, also known as the Tigers, said in a statement that the player will miss the rest of the campaign.
Injury in Saturday's game
On Saturday, Langnau beat Kloten 6:2 at home. Lapinskis spent only 45 seconds on the ice, as the 24-year-old forward suffered an elbow injury. The player has already undergone surgery.
World Championship debut
In May, Lapinskis made his World Championship debut and played all eight of the tournament's games for Latvia. The team reached the quarterfinals. The forward did not record any points at the tournament.
Last season's numbers
Last year in the Swiss National League, Lapinskis scored four goals and added four assists in 51 games. This was his sixth season at Switzerland's top level, and it has now ended in October.
