Overnight into Monday, August 10, Ukrainian drones struck an oil refinery in the city of Nizhnekamsk in Russia's Tatarstan republic, triggering a fire at the facility.

The attack was reported by Ukrainian Telegram channels as well as independent Russian media outlets, which said 13 people had been killed as a result of the strike.

Nizhnekamsk is one of Tatarstan's largest industrial cities and is home to major petrochemical and oil-refining facilities. Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian oil and energy infrastructure have become increasingly frequent in recent times, as Kyiv seeks to curb Russia's ability to fund its war effort and supply its armed forces with fuel.

Russian authorities have not officially confirmed the incident, and the exact death toll has not been independently verified, with the available information coming solely from Ukrainian and independent Russian media sources.
