117 combat clashes on Ukraine's front in a day, with Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk and Huliaipole sectors hit hardest
Ukraine's General Staff reports 117 combat clashes with Russian forces along the front since the start of the day. The most active attacks were in the Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk and Huliaipole sectors.
Ukraine's Armed Forces General Staff said on 24 October that 117 combat clashes had taken place along the front of the Russia-Ukraine war since the start of the day. Russian troops attacked most actively in the Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk and Huliaipole sectors. The figures come from the General Staff's summary and may be updated.
North and northern Donbas
In the North Slobozhansky and Kursk sectors, Russian forces carried out two air strikes, dropped six guided aerial bombs and shelled Ukrainian positions and settlements 42 times.
In the South Slobozhansky sector, the enemy attacked eight times toward Ternova, Okhrimivka and Bochkove; two of those assaults are still under way. In the Kupiansk sector, Russian troops tried three times to improve their positions, advancing toward Radkivka. Five attempts to push forward were repelled in the Lyman sector near Zarichne and toward Stavky and Dibrova. In the Sloviansk sector, Ukrainian defence forces stopped three attempts near Kryva Luka. No assaults took place in the Kramatorsk sector.
Main sectors
In the Kostiantynivka sector, 11 assaults near Kostiantynivka were repelled, and two more are continuing. In the Pokrovsk sector, the enemy launched 14 attacks near Sofiivka, Vilne, Novyi Donbas, Dobropillia, Vasylivka, Krasnopillia, Serhiivka and Molodetske. Preliminary figures put Russian losses there at 28 killed and eight wounded. Five motor vehicles and two special-purpose items were destroyed; one vehicle, one artillery system, one special-purpose item, two drone control points and 47 enemy shelters were damaged. In total, 146 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types were destroyed or suppressed.
South
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy made one attack toward Zaporizke. In the Huliaipole sector, nine attacks were repelled near Dobropillia and toward Verkhnia Tersa, Kopani, Huliaipilske and Yehorivka. In the Orikhiv sector, Russian troops made one attempt to improve their position, attacking toward Novoiakovlivka. No assaults were carried out in the Prydniprovske sector. No significant changes were recorded in other sectors.
