French carmaker Renault will start selling its electric Trafic E-Tech cargo van within the next few weeks. The entry price will be just under €42,000, a relevant figure for businesses weighing a switch to electric commercial vehicles. The van has won the title "International Van of the Year 2027".
Prices and battery
The Trafic E-Tech will come in two trim levels and with two battery options. The model with a 60 kWh battery costs €41,900, but it will only reach the market next spring. The version with an 81 kWh battery starts at €47,400. A single charge delivers a range of 350 or 470 kilometres respectively, and the manufacturer states consumption of about 17.1 kWh per 100 km.
Cargo space
The van holds three euro pallets, has a payload of up to 1.25 tonnes and a towing capacity of up to two tonnes. The loading threshold is 53 centimetres above the ground. The flat floor and rectangular cargo area are also meant to make non-standard loads easier to carry.
Trim levels
The base Advance trim includes a heat pump, fast-charging capability, adaptive cruise control, a multimedia system with a 12.3-inch screen, a rear-view camera and LED lighting. The cargo area has a wooden floor and load-securing points.
The top Extra trim adds automatic climate control, a mobile office, a multimedia system with Google Gemini and Here navigation, and 230-volt sockets for powering external devices. It also offers additional securing points and a hatch in the bulkhead for carrying long items.
