Demand for drones grows, but pilots are scarce – industry
Demand for drones in Latvia is rising, but the industry faces a shortage of qualified pilots. Baltic Unmanned Solutions, a drone manufacturer, points out that while equipment can be produced, trained pilots are insufficient.

The demand for unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) in Latvia is increasing rapidly. However, according to industry representatives, the main challenge is not the production of the equipment, but the shortage of skilled pilots.
Baltic Unmanned Solutions, a company that manufactures drones itself, notes that while the hardware can be produced, training pilots takes significantly more time and resources.
Currently, work is underway in Latvia not only on aerial drones, but also on autonomous platforms designed for tasks on water, underwater, and on land. These technologies expand the application of unmanned systems in various fields.
