A new group of Lithuanian border guards has been sent to Latvia to help combat illegal migration at the border with Belarus. Twenty Lithuanian border guards departed for Latvia on Wednesday, August 12.

A new unit of Lithuanian border guards is being sent to assist their Latvian counterparts in combating illegal migration along Latvia's border with Belarus.

On Wednesday, August 12, twenty Lithuanian border guards set out for Latvia to support their Latvian colleagues at the border.

The move reflects ongoing cooperation between the neighboring countries in managing the situation at the Belarusian border, where attempts to cross illegally have continued to be recorded.
