Carmaker Dacia has announced Latvian prices for its new Striker model. It is an estate car with the raised ground clearance typical of an SUV, and the cheapest version starts at €20,990. The most expensive of the three powertrains, the all-wheel-drive hybrid, starts at €27,390.

Size and platform

The Striker is built on the Renault group's CMF-B platform. It is 4.62 metres long and 1.53 metres tall, making it slightly shorter but taller than many traditional C-segment estates. Ground clearance reaches 200 mm.

Three powertrains

The "mild hybrid-G 140" combines a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, a 48 V mild hybrid system and a factory-fitted LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) system. It offers a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox, and the gas tank sits under the boot floor. Price: from €20,990.

The "hybrid 155" uses a 1.8-litre petrol engine, two electric motors and a 1.4 kWh battery. In the city, up to 80% of driving time can be done in electric-only mode. The manufacturer says CO₂ emissions do not exceed 100 g/km. Price: from €25,590.

In the all-wheel-drive "hybrid 150 4x4", a 1.2-litre petrol engine with a 48 V mild hybrid system drives the front axle, while a separate electric motor drives the rear. The driver can choose from five modes: Auto, Eco, Snow, Mud/Sand and Off-Road. In the city, up to 60% of the distance can be covered in electric mode. Price: from €27,390.

Trim levels

Four trim levels are offered: Essential, Expression, Journey and Extreme. The two top levels cost the same but come with different equipment.

Journey is aimed at comfort, with a power-adjustable driver's seat, heated front seats and steering wheel, fabric and "MicroCloud" material upholstery, and a power-operated tailgate.

Extreme is intended for active leisure and driving off the usual routes. Its standard equipment includes a hill descent assist system that automatically controls braking on steep descents.
