German carmaker Opel has unveiled the STX Concept at the Paris Motor Show. The show car is 4.70 metres long and is an estate with a sporty shooting brake silhouette. It indicates how the company wants to shape the look of its future cars, and it matters because many manufacturers are abandoning estate models.

Design features

The STX Concept has a long bonnet, pronounced wheel arch extensions and an aerodynamically shaped rear. At the front, it shows a further development of Opel's Vizor design language.

According to the source, these elements are likely to appear on the brand's upcoming production models.

What it means going forward

The concept car itself will not enter production, but it offers a glimpse of Opel's future design. If the company does develop a new compact-class estate, it could feature electric all-wheel drive and a sporty character.

The STX Concept's intended top speed exceeds 200 km/h.
