Russian ballistic strike on Kyiv kills one, injures two
Overnight on September 24, Russia launched several waves of ballistic missile strikes on Kyiv, killing one person and injuring two others.
Russian forces carried out several waves of ballistic missile strikes on Ukraine's capital Kyiv overnight into Thursday, September 24, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported.
According to Klitschko, the strikes killed one person and injured two others. Both of the injured were hospitalized by medics.
Multiple city districts affected
Reports of several waves of ballistic strikes on Kyiv, along with numerous explosions across the capital, had been coming in since the early hours of the night. Medics responded to the affected sites, and damage was reported in several districts of the city.
Klitschko said that in the Dniprovskyi district, missile debris fell into the yard of a private house, causing partial destruction of the building. Rescuers believe people may be trapped under the rubble and are conducting a search.
In the Podilskyi district, missile debris fell onto a car park near a medical facility, setting several vehicles on fire.
Official information on the overall consequences of the attack and the progress of rescue operations is still being clarified.
