British Olympian Opens Up About Years-Long Pornography Addiction

Former British Olympic diver Freddie Woodward has spoken openly about his years-long battle with internet pornography addiction. The 30-year-old athlete said the addiction began when he was just 12 and stayed with him on his path to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

According to Woodward, pornography often served as an escape after disappointing training sessions. What started as a habit in his teenage years gradually became part of everyday life and eventually began to interfere with both his studies and his sporting career.

Despite the addiction, he achieved notable success, winning bronze at the Commonwealth Games, becoming European junior vice-champion and representing Great Britain in Rio. However, he admitted that he visited adult websites daily, sometimes as often as ten times a day.

The addiction also took a toll on his personal life. He started sending naked photos and videos to strangers, which later appeared online and led to the breakdown of relationships.

It took six years for Woodward to break free from the addiction. Now he speaks publicly about his experience in the hope of encouraging others to seek help at an earlier stage.

Meanwhile, British experts point out that the number of people seeking help for pornography addiction has risen significantly in recent years.
