A review of changes to Latvian political parties' election lists has found that 139 candidates have switched their political affiliation since the last Saeima elections. This means these individuals are now running, or have run, under a different party's list than the one they were part of in the previous election cycle.

Some of these candidates chose to move to parties or alliances that are ideologically close to their former political force. This type of shift is generally seen as relatively natural, as politicians look for a new platform that matches their existing views and values.

Other candidates made a far less expected move, choosing to join political forces positioned well away from their previous ideological stance. It is precisely these cases that tend to draw the most attention, as they raise questions about the reasons behind such changes.

A full overview of exactly which candidates switched lists and where they moved to has been compiled into a dedicated map, allowing detailed tracking of this movement of candidates between Latvia's political parties in the period between the previous and the upcoming Saeima elections.
