Despite the government having already approved a reform of the hospital network, coalition partners have not yet reached full agreement on its final shape. The Union of Greens and Farmers (ZZS) has objections to the adopted model and wants changes made to it.
This was announced by Economics Minister Viktors Valainis (ZZS) following a coalition cooperation meeting.
Call for parliamentary oversight
ZZS insists that the hospital network reform also requires parliamentary control. This would mean that, alongside the government, the Saeima would also be involved in decision-making and oversight on the matter.
Talks to continue
Although the reform has already been approved by the government, the minister indicated that discussions within the coalition will continue. No details were given on exactly what changes ZZS wants to see in the adopted model, nor on a timeline for further talks.
