Zelenskyy: Discussed with Trump possibility of holding meeting with Putin in the US
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine has repeatedly proposed a meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, but he refuses. Meanwhile, talks with the US and France about a meeting on the sidelines of the G7 took place, as well as with Donald Trump about a possible meeting in the US.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in his address to the Intergovernmental Conference of the European Union, said that Ukraine has repeatedly proposed a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at any location where real decisions could be made to end the war. According to Zelenskyy, Putin does not want this.
Zelenskyy added that together with the United States and France, they discussed the possibility of holding a meeting with Russia on the sidelines of the G7 summit, involving all democratic states. Putin also rejected this option.
On Sunday, June 14, a phone call took place between Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump. During the conversation, the two leaders discussed the possibility of holding a meeting between Ukraine and Russia in the United States in a format that would make it significantly harder for Putin to refuse, especially given Trump's involvement. "We will see what comes of this. If Russia also refuses this chance, additional pressure will be needed," Zelenskyy said.
Zelenskyy and Trump also agreed during the phone call to meet at the G7 summit. Trump also spoke by phone with Vladimir Putin on the same day.
