WSJ: Trump Called Musk and Asked Him to Lift Starshield Restrictions in Ukraine

US President Donald Trump called SpaceX founder Elon Musk on Wednesday and asked him to remove restrictions on using Starshield in Ukraine, where the war continues. The report comes from the Wall Street Journal, which cited US officials.

Starshield is the military version of the Starlink satellite communications system. Its use in Ukraine is currently subject to restrictions, and Trump asked for them to be lifted.

The source does not say what the restrictions are, how Musk responded, or whether any decision has been made. The information rests on the newspaper's reference to unnamed US officials, and no official confirmation from the White House or SpaceX is mentioned.
