The $299 Viture Pro 2 are the company's lightest and most comfortable smartglasses yet
Viture's fifth-anniversary lineup includes the Pro 2 smartglasses and a slimmer Mobile Dock Mini. The glasses are the company's lightest yet, with new display and fit features, priced at $299.
Viture has introduced two new products for its fifth anniversary, both aimed at making wearable displays more convenient. The headline device is the Viture Pro 2, available from $299. At just 63 grams, these are the company's lightest smartglasses to date, and they are also 16 percent slimmer and 20 percent lighter than the original Pro.
To improve fit, the glasses come with redesigned temple pads, a wider range of nose pad adjustments and a lens shade in the box. Eye comfort was also a priority, leading to what Viture calls UltraClarity 3.0. This includes a peak brightness of up to 1,600 nits and a smoother field curvature, which the company says creates more natural-looking virtual images and reduces eye strain.
The Pro 2 has a built-in diopter with separate adjustment for each eye, covering a range from 0 to -5.00D. In some cases, Viture claims nearsighted users may not need custom prescription inserts. The company also adjusted the gamma curve on the Sony micro-OLED displays to produce more accurate, lifelike colors. The optics now deliver a 50-degree field of view, up from 46 degrees, while retaining the same 1920 x 1080 resolution per eye and a 120Hz refresh rate.
As with previous models, the Pro 2 relies on birdbath-style optics, so it is not as sleek as waveguide-based designs. It also needs a wired USB-C connection to a phone or laptop for content, meaning it is not aimed at competing with social-media-focused products such as the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses or Samsung's upcoming Android XR glasses.
To make connecting external devices easier, Viture is also launching a more compact Mobile Dock Mini at $99. The dock weighs around 250 grams, making it 34 percent smaller and 30 percent lighter than its predecessor. It has an integrated 10,000mAh battery to keep gadgets charged while in use. For gamers, the dock supports the Switch 2 and includes a detachable magnetic adapter that can work as a standalone hub to connect Nintendo's handheld to a regular TV or monitor.
The Viture Pro 2 and Mobile Dock Mini are available today from Viture's website for $299 and $99 respectively. Customers who buy both together get an extra $20 discount as part of the fifth anniversary collection, bringing the combined price to $378.
