New leak details Fitbit Edge pricing and specs ahead of launch
Fresh leaked information reveals the price and detailed specifications of Google's upcoming Fitbit Edge fitness tracker, including its display, sensors and expected launch colors. The device is expected to cost €179 in Europe, with a US price likely around $180.
Following earlier leaked photos of Google's upcoming Fitbit Edge, new information has surfaced detailing the fitness tracker's price and features. According to details shared by Dealabs, the device will retail for €179 in Europe and £159 in the UK. Tech site 9to5Google, comparing these figures to the pricing of the screen-free Fitbit Air in the same regions, estimates the Fitbit Edge will cost around $180 in the US.
Display and connectivity
The Edge is expected to feature a 1.34-inch always-on OLED touchscreen and will run Fitbit OS with access to the Google Play store. It will connect to both Android and iOS devices via Bluetooth and will include GPS along with an accelerometer, barometer, altimeter, and gyroscope. Multiple optical sensors will measure heart rate and blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), while electrical sensors will enable ECG readings.
Health and activity tracking
The tracker will monitor steps, distance, calories, skin temperature, sleep, cardiac load, and menstrual cycles. It will also recognize activities such as running, swimming, and golf, along with more than 40 other exercise types, offering real-time coaching and personalized fitness programs powered by Google Gemini. The device will also be able to detect signs of serious conditions such as atrial fibrillation and irregular heart rhythms, alerting users when they occur.
Battery and design
A user-replaceable lithium-ion battery is rated for up to seven days of use, dropping to roughly two days when the always-on display is active. The Fitbit Edge will carry an IP68 water-resistance rating and is expected to launch in four color combinations similar to the Pixel Watch 5, including obsidian and matte black, olive and satin pyrite, canyon and champagne gold, and fog and polished silver.
