Twin cities Valka and Valga celebrate 442nd birthday with parade "Joy"
On Friday evening, June 12, residents of Valka and Valga gathered for a festive parade marking the 442nd birthday of the twin cities.

On Friday, June 12, in the evening, the streets of Valka hosted a festive parade called "Joy" ("Prieks") dedicated to the 442nd birthday of the twin cities Valka (Latvia) and Valga (Estonia).
The procession included representatives from various institutions and organizations, work and amateur art groups, educational institutions, athletes and sports clubs, interest groups, firefighters and rescuers, as well as military personnel and military vehicles.
Families with children and other happy people lined the streets to greet the parade participants. The musical atmosphere was provided by the Valka Wind Orchestra, whose musicians rode at the front of a heavy truck.
