A traffic incident occurred on Thursday evening, around 20:45, near a tram stop in Riga's Krasta massif area, where a tram reportedly struck two pedestrians directly on a marked crossing. The incident was reported by the Instagram account "Sadursme," citing an eyewitness account.

According to the witness, both victims — a woman and a man — were on the pedestrian crossing at the time of the collision. The witness said the tram driver had sounded a warning signal before the impact.

The woman remained conscious after being struck, while the man's condition appeared considerably more serious, based on the witness's description. Several medical teams were sent to the scene, including a resuscitation crew.

The post by "Sadursme" also noted that both pedestrians may have been deaf-mute, though this detail, like other circumstances described by the witness, has not been officially confirmed.

The exact medical condition of the victims remains unknown at this time, and no official information about the cause of the accident or a subsequent investigation has yet been released.
