Raxtu Raxti Release Title Track of New Album “Viena saule, viena zeme”
The Latvian folk-inspired music group Raxtu Raxti has released the title track and a music video from its new album. The band is preparing an 11-concert tour starting on 1 November in Liepāja.
The Latvian music group Raxtu Raxti, whose music blends Latvian folk inspiration with a contemporary sound, has released the title track of its new album “Viena saule, viena zeme” (“One Sun, One Land”). A music video has also been made for the song, created by Laura Rožkalne-Ozola. The group is also planning a concert tour, with the first show set for 1 November.
About the song’s message
The song was written by band member Kristīne Kārkle-Kalniņa. She says the composition captures the overall mood of the album and speaks about values that run through each of its tracks. In her words, the sun and the land are home to all living things, while the land is the foundation of human life and also a symbol of the homeland – the place where a person was born and raised, and where family traditions and memories are kept. She stresses that although people live across the world, speak different languages and follow different traditions, the land and the sun unite them all.
The musical material was created with inspiration from a Latvian folk song about family, a work ethic and love of nature. Kārkle-Kalniņa describes the piece as a song about the course of a human life, physical and spiritual growth, and becoming aware of one’s own worth in the world and in one’s own land.

The tour includes 11 concerts. The first will take place on 1 November at the “Lielais dzintars” concert hall in Liepāja. The first half of the programme will feature the newest material from the album, while the second half will include songs the group has performed since its earliest concerts.
