PM Kulbergs' chief of staff Gruškevičs declares debts over €207,000
Mareks Gruškevičs, chief of staff to Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs, disclosed debts exceeding €207,000 in his official asset declaration upon taking office, alongside sizable cash savings.
A newly published official declaration shows that Mareks Gruškevičs, chief of staff to Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs, entered his position carrying debt obligations of more than €207,000.
Savings and property
Despite the substantial debt, Gruškevičs also declared €23,000 in cash savings and a further €2,804 held in a bank account. According to the declaration, he owns a plot of land and another property in Garkalne parish, and holds a 2013 Dacia Duster car.
Ties to several organizations
The declaration further shows that Gruškevičs serves as a board member of two companies, C Future and Arenales skola. He is also listed as an official of the Latvian Fintech Association, the organization Radio Marija Latvija, and the foundation Rīga Roman Catholic Gymnasium.
Background
Parliament confirmed Kulbergs as prime minister on 28 May. At the time, it was already known that Gruškevičs would head his office; he had previously led the office of Rīga City Council deputy chairman Māris Sprindžuks.
