Poland's Defense Minister: US Troop Rotation to Resume in Coming Weeks
Poland's Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced that the previously suspended rotation of US troops in Poland will resume and be completed within weeks, calling it a "positive signal".

Poland's Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced on Thursday that the rotation of U.S. troops in the country, which had been suspended several weeks ago, will resume and be completed within the coming weeks. He described this development as a "positive signal."
Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that he had spoken with the U.S. deputy ambassador to Poland and the military attaché, receiving confirmation that the previously halted rotation would continue. He also referred to a "next stage" of negotiations with the United States regarding an American military base.
Currently, approximately 10,000 U.S. service members are stationed in Poland, with the majority serving on a rotational basis.
Earlier, on May 15, U.S. officials confirmed the cancellation of a planned deployment of 4,000 troops to Poland. However, shortly afterward, President Donald Trump announced his intention to send 5,000 U.S. troops to Poland, citing his friendly relations with President Karol Nawrocki.
