After fire in Cēsis region, five families seek help to rebuild roof
More than two months after a fire in the Cēsis region, five families still cannot return to their homes because the building's roof burned down. Rebuilding the roof requires about 80,000 euros, and residents are asking the public for help.
More than two months have passed since a fire broke out in the Cēsis region, yet five families still cannot move back into their homes. The roof of a seven-apartment building was completely destroyed by the blaze, while the apartments themselves suffered severe damage from both fire and water used to extinguish it.
The situation was covered by the program "Обсудим вечером".
Living with relatives
The affected residents are currently staying with relatives or in temporary apartments provided to them. They are ready to restore their own apartments using their own resources, but they lack the funds needed to rebuild the building's roof.
About 80,000 euros needed
Rebuilding the roof is estimated to cost around 80,000 euros. Since the families cannot raise this sum on their own, they are appealing to the public for support so they can return to their homes as soon as possible.
