OpenAI acquires presentation-building startup NextSlide
OpenAI has acquired presentation startup NextSlide, whose team is now working on ChatGPT. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Presentation-building startup NextSlide has announced it is joining OpenAI, with its team now contributing to ChatGPT. The news was shared through a note on the company's website from founder Ahmed Beshry.
Beshry described NextSlide's product as one capable of turning prompts, notes, documents, or research into a polished, editable presentation. He said the company's goal had always been to make visual communication more accessible and help people express their ideas more clearly.
According to Beshry, joining OpenAI allows the team to continue that same mission by building AI products that help people create, communicate, and turn their ideas into meaningful work.
Deal details
The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. In a note on LinkedIn, Beshry acknowledged that the announcement was coming several months after the fact, since the deal itself closed earlier this year.
Beshry was previously a co-founder of Caper AI, a startup behind smart shopping carts and cashier-less checkout technology, which was acquired by Instacart in 2021.
OpenAI has continued expanding its product lineup by acquiring smaller startups and folding their teams and technology into ChatGPT.
