Starting October 7, the town of Ogre will host the Alpha Course — a series of free gatherings for anyone wishing to discuss life's big questions, the Christian faith, and its relevance to modern life in a relaxed, open setting.
What the course offers
Organizers stress that Alpha is not a lecture where participants are asked to adopt a particular viewpoint. Instead, conversation is a central part of the course, giving attendees the freedom to share their own thoughts, doubts, and questions. The course is designed to welcome people who have never attended a church or do not consider themselves believers, and no prior knowledge of the Bible or Christianity is required to take part.
Alpha courses run in many places around the world, bringing together people with widely varying life experiences and beliefs. In Ogre, participants will likewise spend several evenings in an informal atmosphere, getting to know one another and discussing various topics related to life and faith.
