Historic Rally

The New York Knicks pulled off a stunning victory in Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday night, beating the San Antonio Spurs 107-106. Trailing by 29 points at one stage, they mounted the biggest comeback in NBA Finals history. The winning basket came with just 1.2 seconds left on the clock.

Heroic Finish

OG Anunoby scored the decisive points by tipping in a missed three-point attempt. Fans erupted in chants of "O-G! O-G!" Knicks coach Mike Brown called it the most iconic shot in New York basketball history. Anunoby, who joined the team in January 2024, has become a fan favorite.

Star-Studded Crowd

The game at Madison Square Garden attracted a host of celebrities, including Taylor Swift, Timothée Chalamet, and filmmaker Spike Lee. Swift, wearing a "Stevie Knicks" t-shirt, was seen jumping for joy after the win. New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani posted "SPEECHLESS" on X. Other notable attendees included Jimmy Fallon, Ben Stiller, Tracy Morgan, and Mariska Hargitay.

Series Outlook

The Knicks now lead the best-of-seven series 3-1. One more win would secure their first NBA championship since 1973. Game 5 is scheduled for Saturday night in San Antonio. However, the Spurs could still force a comeback of their own by winning the next three games.

City in Celebration

Fans celebrated the victory on the streets of New York. The city has been decorated in Knicks colors, from the Empire State Building to the New York Public Library lions. A fan told the BBC earlier that the atmosphere was electric. The Knicks last reached the Finals in 1999, where they lost to the same Spurs team.
