Liepāja beach tennis league concludes fifth and final stage

On Friday, August 7, Liepāja hosted the fifth and final stage of the 2026 beach tennis league season. Unlike previous stages, this round was played in singles format, with 44 participants competing across two groups – Advanced and Intermediate.

Stage results

In the Advanced group, Madara Berga won the women's title, defeating Ilze Mikne-Šaudiņa in the final, while Sanita Punga took third place. Among men, Artis Zombergs won the stage, beating Ģirts Antonovs in the final, with Mārtiņš Ivanovs finishing third.

In the Intermediate group, Andra Štāle won the women's competition, followed by Terēze Gāliņa in second and Zane Sokolova in third. Among men, Elvis Beļusovs won, defeating Jānis Segliņš in the final, with Gatis Jansons placing third.

Overall season standings

With the fifth stage complete, the season's overall leaders are now known. In the Advanced women's standings, Sanita Punga topped the table with 197 points, ahead of Madara Berga (195 points) and Ilze Mikne-Šaudiņa (192 points). In the Advanced men's standings, Artis Zombergs finished first with 200 points, followed by Ģirts Antonovs (199 points) and Mārtiņš Ivanovs (194 points).

In the Intermediate women's standings, Zane Sokolova finished first with 197 points, ahead of Terēze Gāliņa (196 points) and Kristīne Jansone (190 points). In the Intermediate men's standings, Jānis Segliņš won with 197 points, followed by Edgars Cinovskis (193 points) and Gatis Jansons (192 points).

Although the league season has ended, the summer beach tennis calendar continues – the Liepāja beach tennis championships will take place on August 15. The Liepāja beach tennis league is organized by the association "BT Liepāja" with support from Liepāja city, the Liepāja Olympic Center, SIA "Teniss" and the marketing agency Fortius.
