Foreign Ministry representative returns from Nepal: European bodies reportedly not yet found

A month has passed since floods in Nepal turned long-awaited trips into tragedy. Thirty-three Latvian nationals remain missing.

Days after the disaster, a representative of Latvia's Foreign Ministry traveled to Nepal to coordinate communication with local authorities and help find answers that families of those affected have been anxiously awaiting.

Three weeks in the disaster zone

After three weeks of work in the flood-stricken country, the ministry representative has now returned to Latvia. According to available information, bodies of European victims connected to the disaster have reportedly not yet been found.

The fate of the missing Latvian nationals remains unclear, and their families continue to wait for further information from responsible institutions.
