Rain expected early this week, active cyclone possible by weekend
Latvia's environment and meteorology agency forecasts a rainy start and middle of the week, while an active cyclone could bring intense downpours by the weekend.

After a calmer weekend, the start of the week is expected to bring more rain. On Monday, precipitation will affect most of Latvia, with heavy downpours and thunderstorms possible in some areas. On Tuesday, rain will mainly continue in the Latgale region, where a precipitation zone will bring longer-lasting rainfall than elsewhere in the country.
Winds on both days will blow mostly from the west, relatively light, gradually shifting toward the north. Daytime air temperatures will hover around 20 degrees on both days, while nighttime temperatures in many areas will not drop below 10-15 degrees.
Midweek outlook
Weather conditions are not expected to change significantly in the middle of the week, as Latvia will remain under the influence of cyclones. This means the probability of rain will stay relatively high, though precipitation will be unevenly distributed — the location of rain zones will vary from day to day, and some regions may see no rain at all during this period. No significant strengthening of wind is expected during this time.
Possible intense rain at the end of the week
Meteorologists point to the possibility that an active cyclone could cross Latvia from the south toward the end of the week. This could bring intense and prolonged rain, potentially starting during the night before Saturday and continuing through the day. However, since the forecast depends on the cyclone's trajectory, it could still change significantly.
