Mieriņa: Greens and Farmers' possible failure to enter Saeima partly tied to inconsistency on values

Exit poll data suggests the Union of Greens and Farmers (ZZS) may fail to enter parliament for the first time in its history. Party leader Daiga Mieriņa partly attributes this to the party's inconsistency on value-related issues.

The Union of Greens and Farmers (ZZS), which has held seats in Latvia's parliament for more than 20 years, may for the first time in its history fail to win representation in the 15th Saeima, according to exit poll data.

Daiga Mieriņa, one of the party's leaders and speaker of the 14th Saeima, commented on the situation, partly attributing the party's possible failure to enter parliament to inconsistency in how it has handled questions related to values.

If the exit poll figures are confirmed by the official election results, it would mark a significant shift in Latvia's political landscape, since ZZS has long been one of the most consistently represented parties in parliament.
