Neto, Manzambi and Maddison named in Premier League team of the week

BBC Sport's Troy has named his team of the week from the Premier League, England's top-flight football league. He picked five players from five clubs and gave a short explanation for each choice.

The selected players

Sander Berge (Fulham). Troy sees the match against Hull as a six-pointer. In his view, a Fulham defeat would have put the team on course for relegation. Fulham got the job done, and Berge was at the heart of everything good in their performance.

Diego Gomez (Brighton). The player scored from the halfway line. According to Troy, nothing more needs to be said.

Pedro Neto (Chelsea). He scored twice and won the game for Chelsea. Troy says Neto is the sort of player who looks good without it being obvious why, but in this match everything came together. With defenders likely to focus on Morgan Rogers, Joao Pedro and Cole Palmer, Neto could use his pace at the back post, and Troy thinks he may have a good season.

Johan Manzambi (Aston Villa). Troy calls him the player of the month so far. The 21-year-old Swiss talent is carrying Aston Villa, showing both a willingness to learn and the confidence to take responsibility for the team.

James Maddison (Tottenham). Troy welcomed the player's return. Spurs needed quality in the final third, and Maddison put the ball into the top corner. The pundit is pleased to see him healthy and smiling.
