Top First League Clubs and a Second League Team Reach Latvian Cup Last 16
In the Latvian Cup football competition, first league teams "Metta", "Leevon PPK", and "Riga Mariners" along with second league side "Spēks" advanced to the round of 16, where they will be joined by top-tier Virslīga clubs.

The Latvian Cup round of 32 matches on June 20 determined four teams that secured spots in the round of 16. From the first league, leaders "Metta", as well as "Leevon PPK" and "Riga Mariners", progressed. From the second league, "Spēks" advanced.
The only match between teams from different leagues saw "Metta" thrash second-league side "Ķekava/Auda" 5:0 at home. The first goal came in the 35th minute through Ghanaian striker Prince Apia. By halftime, Daniils Čiņajevs and Kevins Cēsnieks made it 3:0. In the second half, Nigerians Sadiks Sale and Waris Lawall added two more goals.
In a top-first-league clash, "Riga Mariners" edged JDFS "Alberts" 1:0 at home, with Artjoms Pavlovskis scoring the only goal in the 75th minute. In another first-league encounter, vice-leaders "Leevon PPK" defeated "Ventspils" 3:1 away. The hosts equalized a minute after conceding, but Ričards Korzāns scored twice at the end of each half. At 2:1, "Leevon PPK" missed a penalty kick taken by Rūdolfs Muižnieks.
In the all-second-league battle, group B's fourth-placed "Spēks" came from behind to beat group A's runners-up "Salaspils" 3:1 away. After the hosts took an early lead, Ritvars Sniķers, Reinars Šteimaks, and Ralfs Streiba scored in the second half to secure the win.
One more round of 32 match remains: on June 22, "Smiltene" and "Valmiera" will play for the last berth in the round of 16. The round of 16 will also include top-tier Virslīga teams, with the draw scheduled for June 26 at 14:30.
