Masaki Nakagava, a social media personality often described as the most famous Japanese person living in Latvia, has officially married. He exchanged rings with his beloved, Latvian native Arta Voicehovska.

Masaki had previously told his followers that a wedding was planned for August. Based on stories he later shared on Instagram, the long-awaited event has now taken place.

Celebration honored Latvian traditions

The ceremony was held outdoors, followed by a celebration with guests. The couple chose to honor traditional Latvian wedding customs, including the breaking of a plate and the traditional "mičošana" hat-changing ritual for the bride.

A particularly touching moment, judging by the shared material, came when the newlyweds sang the Latvian song "Mūsu mīlestība" ("Our Love") together. The performance may have been especially moving for Masaki's relatives, who had traveled a long way from Japan to attend.

Known for his passion for the Latvian language

Masaki gained widespread recognition in Latvia specifically because of his enthusiasm for the Latvian language and culture. He regularly posts videos on social media in which he speaks and sings in Latvian, earning considerable sympathy and attention from Latvian audiences.
