Access to the websites of Latvian state institutions is being restored step by step on the evening of Wednesday, 21 October. The sites had been closed because of cybersecurity risks: critical security vulnerabilities were found globally in PHP, a programming language widely used to build websites.
The restoration was observed by the news agency LETA, which reported it. The available information does not specify which institutions or how many websites were closed, nor when access will be fully restored.
Because access is returning gradually, some state institution websites may already be available in the evening while others are not yet.
