Latvian Defense Minister Raivis Melnis, during his first visit to Ukraine, handed over the first 14 CVRT armored vehicles to the 3rd Army Corps, with a total of 41 planned.

Latvia's Military Aid to Ukraine
Latvian Defense Minister Raivis Melnis, on his inaugural official visit to Ukraine, personally handed over 14 CVRT armored vehicles to Ukrainian soldiers of the 3rd Army Corps. These combat vehicles, previously in service with Latvia's Ādaži Mechanized Infantry Brigade, are part of a larger assistance package.
In total, the Latvian government has pledged to deliver 41 such armored vehicles to Ukraine, which will significantly enhance Ukraine's ability to counter Russian aggression and save soldiers' lives.
Cooperation on Unmanned Systems
During the visit, Melnis met with Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov to coordinate joint efforts in developing unmanned systems. Both sides agreed to continue close cooperation in this area.
Notably, on June 9, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, while in Estonia for the Nordic-Baltic Eight summit, met with new Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs, and they signed the so-called Drone Deal – an agreement on unmanned aerial vehicles.
