"Rīgas sargi" Concert Production to Mark Lāčplēsis Day at Riga Congress Hall
A concert production called "Rīgas sargi" will take place at the Riga Congress Hall on 11 November. It tells the story of Latvia's struggle for freedom through music, documentary stories, video projections and dance.

On Lāčplēsis Day, 11 November, the Riga Congress Hall will host a concert production titled "Rīgas sargi" (The Guardians of Riga). The event starts at 7 p.m.
The show is designed as a musical and visual story about Latvia's wars of independence and the people who were ready to defend their country. It draws its inspiration from the film "Rīgas sargi".
Music, stories and visuals
The programme brings together songs of the Latvian riflemen and patriotic music by contemporary authors. These are interwoven with documentary stories from the period, video projections and dance. As a result, the performance offers not only music but also a visual and human narrative about events of the past.
The production fits into the range of Lāčplēsis Day events, when Latvia remembers its freedom fighters.
