Defense of Ukrainian in Nord Stream case asks court to drop it over secrecy duty
Lawyers for Ukrainian Serhii Kuznietsov have asked a court in Hamburg to dismiss the case over the Nord Stream gas pipeline sabotage. They say his military oath bars him from discussing the case even with his defense team.

Lawyers for Ukrainian national Serhii Kuznietsov want the court in the German city of Hamburg to close the case over the blowing up of the Nord Stream gas pipelines. Ukrainska Pravda reported the request on 15 October.
The defense bases its argument on Kuznietsov's military oath. The lawyers claim the oath forbids him from discussing the case, and that this ban extends to conversations with his own defense team. In their view, the proceedings therefore cannot go forward.
The source does not say whether the court has already considered the request, when it will rule, or give other details of the case.
