All gas stations in Russian-occupied Crimea have ceased gasoline sales entirely as of 9 a.m. on June 21, 2026. The decision was announced by Sergey Aksyonov, the head of the occupation administration, who stated that fuel will henceforth be delivered only to government agencies and services.
The peninsula has been experiencing a fuel shortage since late spring. The cause is attributed to successful attacks by Ukrainian armed forces on fuel tankers and trucks supplying Crimea via the R-280 "Novorossiya" highway. These strikes have severely disrupted fuel deliveries.
Earlier, on June 6, QR code coupons were introduced at the TES gas station network in Sevastopol to manage fuel purchases. Each code allowed the purchase of 20 liters of gasoline once a week, obtainable only through the "Max" app. Despite this measure, long queues formed at stations and fuel remained scarce.
With the complete halt of sales, the situation has become more critical. Civilians can no longer obtain gasoline even with coupons, as only state services now receive fuel supplies.
