From June 21 at 9:00, all gas stations in Russian-occupied Crimea have completely stopped selling fuel, both for cash and with coupons. The announcement was made by occupation head Sergey Aksyonov, stating that fuel will henceforth be provided only to state services.
The Crimean peninsula has experienced a gasoline shortage since late spring. This is a result of successful Ukrainian armed forces attacks on fuel tankers and trucks supplying Crimea via the R-280 "Novorossia" highway.
Earlier, on June 6, QR codes were introduced at the "TES" gas station network in Sevastopol to obtain coupons for gasoline. The code allowed the purchase of 20 liters of gasoline only once a week, exclusively through the "Maks" app.
