Russian drone strikes hit civilian targets in Kyiv again
A Russian drone struck a school in Kyiv where more than 100 students and about 60 staff were sheltering, with all surviving unharmed as fires broke out across two city districts.
Kyiv was hit by another Russian drone attack overnight, damaging a school, a café, and several warehouses. At the moment the drone struck the school building, more than 100 students and roughly 60 staff members were inside the building's shelter.
Everyone survived
Despite the strike, none of those sheltering were harmed. This suggests that timely air raid warnings and the use of the shelter helped avoid casualties, even though the attack itself caused significant damage.
Fires in two districts
Following the strike, fires broke out in two districts of Kyiv. Alongside the school, other civilian sites were also affected, including a café and several warehouses, pointing to the wide scope of the attack across the city's residential and commercial areas.
This marks another in a series of regular Russian drone attacks on Ukraine's capital, which continue to affect civilian infrastructure, including educational institutions and commercial sites, posing an ongoing threat to the city's residents.
