Dormition Cathedral burns at UNESCO-listed Kyiv Pechersk Lavra after Russian attack
A large Russian missile and drone attack on Kyiv damaged the Dormition Cathedral within the UNESCO-listed Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, and also struck residential buildings.

One of Ukraine's most significant religious sites has been damaged during a large Russian missile and drone attack on Kyiv that also struck residential buildings. The damage to Dormition Cathedral, which lies within Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, was described by the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as 'one of Russia’s most serious crimes against Christian culture to date.' The monastery was set on fire in a night of Russian attacks across Ukraine.
