Kyiv sees no risks of Hungary renewing blockade of Ukraine's EU path
Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister Taras Kachka stated that Kyiv sees no risks of Hungary again blocking Ukraine's EU accession by demanding concessions on the rights of the Hungarian minority.

The Ukrainian government does not see risks that Hungary might once again create obstacles on Ukraine's path to the European Union by demanding concessions on the issue of Hungarian minority rights. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka before the intergovernmental conference in Luxembourg to open the first negotiating cluster.
Kachka noted that Ukraine and Hungary have reached a key agreement: the entire policy on national minorities will be integral. Hungary has joined the action plan on national minorities, which confirms that Ukraine's legislation – the 2022 law on national minorities, the education law adopted since 2015, and the language law developed since 2022 – is fully acceptable.
"We see no negative scenarios. We believe that the Hungarian minority in Ukraine fully enjoys its rights, lives, and affirms its identity within the framework of Ukrainian public order. Therefore, we see no factual or legal problems and hope for constructive dialogue with the Hungarian government in the future," said Kachka.
He also reported that Ukraine expects the remaining clusters to be opened within a few weeks.
