Explosions Heard in Kyiv, Air Defense Active

In the early hours of Sunday, June 28, an air alert was declared in Kyiv and several Ukrainian regions due to the threat of enemy ballistic weapons. Explosions were heard in the capital.

According to the Air Force, at around 2:00 AM, a warning was issued about the potential use of ballistic missiles. Prior to that, an air alert had already been announced in the capital and several regions. The Air Force subsequently reported ballistic missiles heading toward Kyiv.

At 2:03 AM, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed that air defense systems were active in the city. After 2:30 AM, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachenko, urged residents to stay in shelters until the all-clear, stating that the enemy was attacking the capital with ballistic missiles. At 2:32 AM, the Air Force again reported a ballistic threat to Kyiv.

No information on casualties or damage has been provided so far.
