In a Latvian men's floorball top-division match, home side Ķekava/RB&B fell 3:4 to FK Kurši despite a promising start.

The Liepāja-based visitors started young goalkeeper Markuss Nerets, resting regular starter Oskars Venckus. Although the visitors had more puck possession and shots in the opening period, it was the home team that scored first, through Mārtiņš Urtāns in the ninth minute.

Second period troubles again

Ķekava/RB&B have struggled specifically in second periods this season, having lost all six of them so far. The pattern repeated here: after holding a narrow lead for most of the period, Sandis Lēvalds equalized in the 32nd minute, and a minute later Krišs Ādolfs Antāns put the visitors ahead. Antāns added another goal before the period ended, extending the away side's lead.

In the third period, the hosts pushed to come back, with Kārlis Degins cutting the deficit following a shot from Klāvs-Ziedonis Jansons. In the closing minutes, Ķekava/RB&B pulled their goalkeeper for an extra skater, but Ričards Čudnovs found the empty net. Toms Ķeirāns narrowed the gap again, but time ran out before a full comeback could be completed.

The result marked the team's fifth loss of the season, leaving Ķekava/RB&B at the bottom of the standings with three points. FK Kurši picked up their second win of the season after two earlier losses to last season's finalists.

Last season the two teams met twice, with Ķekava winning both encounters, but this time it was the Liepāja club that got its revenge.
