Bertāns' Dubai falls to Fenerbahce in EuroLeague

Latvian player Dāvis Bertāns' club Dubai lost on the road to Istanbul's Fenerbahce in the third round of the EuroLeague, with Bertāns seeing under 11 minutes of action.

Latvian basketball player Dāvis Bertāns' team Dubai suffered a defeat on Friday in the third round of the ULEB EuroLeague, losing 66:76 away to Istanbul's Fenerbahce. The quarter-by-quarter scores were 14:26, 25:16, 12:13 and 15:21 in favor of the home side.

Bertāns spent ten minutes and 27 seconds on the court. During that time he missed his only three-point attempt, grabbed three rebounds, recorded one steal, committed one turnover and picked up a foul, finishing the game with an efficiency rating of one.

For Dubai, Elie Okobo led scoring with 18 points, while Dwayne Bacon and Mckinley Wright each added 12 points. For the winning side, Marcus Bingham contributed 20 points and eight rebounds.

With the result, Dubai has won two of its three games this EuroLeague season, while Fenerbahce has won all three of its games so far.

About the tournament

In the EuroLeague regular season, each of the 20 teams will play 38 games. The top six teams advance directly to the quarterfinals, while teams finishing seventh through tenth will compete in a play-in round. The EuroLeague Final Four is scheduled for late May.

Last season's Final Four took place in Athens, where Piraeus' Olympiacos became champion, defeating Real Madrid 92:85 in the final.
