Estonia's Ministry of Defence has announced a project grant competition aimed at strengthening the population's readiness for national defence, ERR radio news reported on Wednesday, September 23.
Who can benefit
Funding will be available for projects that promote conscript service among young people, as well as initiatives that foster cohesion among members of the Kaitseliit (Estonian Defence League), reservists, active service members, and veterans. Support will also go toward efforts that increase employers' willingness to allow reservist employees to take part in military training exercises.
What kinds of activities qualify
Under the grant scheme, organizations can run camps, awareness campaigns, training sessions, visits, sports events, and other activities designed to raise awareness of defence issues and strengthen ties between different groups connected to national security.
Budget and deadline
The total budget for the competition is up to €365,000. Applications can be submitted until October 26 through the grant-processing information system.
