Lynx spends whole day sitting in a boat in Estonia's Tõrva parish
In the village of Pikasilla in Estonia's Tõrva parish, a resident found a lynx that had climbed into a boat and stayed there all day. A local hunting society chairman said such behavior is unusual for the animal.
In the village of Pikasilla in Tõrva parish, southern Estonia, a resident named Bruno Käärik came across an unusual sight — a lynx had climbed into his boat and remained there for the entire day.
According to Käärik, who spoke to the newspaper Lõuna-Eesti Postimees, he checked on the animal several times throughout the day. The lynx moved back and forth between the two ends of the boat, and whenever he approached, it watched him with frightened eyes and trembled.
To make it easier for the animal to leave the boat, Käärik placed a plank against it. By the next morning, the lynx had disappeared.
Unusual behavior
Mati Kivistik, chairman of the Võru County hunting society, said such behavior is uncharacteristic for an animal as bold as a lynx. In his assessment, the lynx that climbed into the boat was most likely sick.
