Japanese carmaker Honda is preparing a new electric sport utility vehicle (SUV) called the ALPHA. Its official premiere is scheduled for 2 December 2026 in India. The country will be both the first sales market and the main production hub for the model. The company speaks of global availability, so the car is planned for other markets as well.

What is known about the model

The ALPHA is expected to be a mid-size electric SUV. It is forecast to use an LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery with a capacity of roughly 65–75 kWh. A front-wheel-drive version is expected initially.

Visually, the car is characterised by a flat front end, an illuminated Honda logo and massive C-pillars, the rear roof supports. At the back, a U-shaped light element wraps around the rear window.

Will it reach Europe?

Although Honda talks about global availability, the model's arrival in the European market has not yet been officially confirmed. European buyers following the manufacturer's news therefore still lack clarity on whether the ALPHA will be offered to them.
