As part of the Career Week “Energy in Our Lives”, Grundzale primary school hosted the manager of rugby club “Livonia”, Evija Karlliša, on 6 October. She was joined by players Daniela Šakociņa and Dāvids Bērtiņš, both graduates of the school.

Pupils in grades 4 to 9 were first introduced to the club: the guests explained what a rugby club is, how it operates and what goes on there. They also described the sport itself, its rules and its特 characteristics. Pupils were able to ask questions and watched a film about rugby, which helped them understand the game better.

After the film, pupils in grades 6 to 9 went out to the sports field, where Daniela and Dāvids led a rugby training session. The students could not only listen but also try out elements of the game themselves and experience team spirit.

The guests also gave the school a rugby ball as a gift.

The school community thanked the graduates for returning to their school, sharing their experience and leading the practical session, as well as the club manager for her informative presentation. The event allowed pupils to learn not only about rugby but also about professions and opportunities connected with the world of sport.
