Von der Leyen announces first €3.2 billion tranche to Ukraine from €90 billion loan in Gdansk
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen revealed that Ukraine will receive the first macro-financial assistance installment of €3.2 billion from the total €90 billion loan, plus an additional €6 billion for drone production.

At the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdansk on Thursday, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced the disbursement of the first tranche of a €90 billion loan to Ukraine. The initial payment amounts to €3.2 billion in macro-financial assistance.
Von der Leyen noted that since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, the European Union and its member states have provided approximately €200 billion in aid to Ukraine. She also announced that in the coming days, the EU will begin transferring funds from a €6 billion package aimed at drone production.
"This is solidarity in action," von der Leyen stated.
These financial commitments follow the Credit Agreement and Memorandum of Understanding signed by President Volodymyr Zelensky in May, which secures €90 billion in financial support for Ukraine from the EU.
