Stockholm-based startup Fika Jobs has announced a $4 million pre-seed funding round. The company is developing a hiring platform that combines short-form video profiles with AI-driven interviews, creating a cross between LinkedIn and TikTok. Instead of applying for individual roles, candidates maintain live video profiles that employers can browse and revisit.

The idea came from brothers Jakob Dubois (CEO) and Alexander Dubois (CTO) while building their previous social app, Gaff. They realized that traits like grit and ambition are hard to capture on a traditional résumé. The process begins by linking a LinkedIn profile, after which the AI generates personalized interview questions. Candidates then complete a roughly 10-minute video interview with an AI agent powered by Google's Gemini models. Afterward, the responses are automatically turned into short video clips and organized into a profile.

Unlike competitors such as Alex, Maki, and Mercor—which focus on helping employers source and screen candidates—Fika Jobs is building a platform where candidates maintain video-first profiles and employers browse a pre-interviewed talent pool. This approach may be particularly valuable for early-career professionals and those from non-traditional backgrounds. However, video profiles also introduce bias risks, as employers can see a candidate's race, age, gender, and appearance before evaluating qualifications.

The platform will open early access to candidates this week, with a wider public launch expected in the fall. It will initially focus on Sweden before expanding internationally. The team currently has a few employees and expects to reach 10 by year-end. Over 100 companies are on the waitlist, and more than 50 have tested the platform, including Plenty Labs, SICS.ai, Kognity, and Rebtel.

The service is free for job seekers. Employers pay nothing upfront, but Fika takes 10% of a candidate's first-year salary upon a successful hire, which the company notes is lower than the traditional 20–30% placement fees. The round was led by Luminar Ventures, with participation from Alliance VC and King co-founders Sebastian Knutsson and Riccardo Zacconi, known for creating Candy Crush.
